As a non-profit organisation, FactCheckZW, relies on a variety of sources for funding projects, operations, salaries, and other overhead costs. Fundraising efforts are important for our existence and success. We accept funding from philanthropic foundations; grants from local and international agencies, as well as local and foreign governments; and private corporations.
We do not accept funding from political parties in the country and any such partisan bodies.
Funding is accepted on the basis that FactCheckZW retains total editorial and programming independence, without any interference from the funder.
As verified by the IFCN’s independent assessment of our work each year, we ensure that funders have no influence over the conclusions we reach in our reports.
Currently we are funded by the Global Fact Fund (GROW 2024) through the IFCN.
